Vancouver

I can't believe it's been 19 days since my last blog! V seems to be the favourite letter for my titles, so I'll stick with it and tell you about my most recent Vancouver adventures :)

A few weeks ago I bought a single ticket to see Sylvia Browne at the Orpheum Theatre. That place is seriously beautiful - a great venue for any event. Back to the start of my trip!

I went to Vancouver Wednesday and Geoff picked me up from the boat. We had an awesome night together! It was seriously overdue. We went out for dinner, watched the first Canucks game of the series on his wicked tv in HD... went to DQ, chatted in the hot tub. It was awesome, thanks Geoff!

Thursday I went downtown Vancouver to see Sylvia. It was a really fun show.. I heard everything I wanted to hear, lots of intriguing things to think about for sure! Afterwards, I had my first experience with Crepes! Dark chocolate and Banana with whip cream... fantastic. Apparently in Europe, Crepes are as popular as hot dog stands are in the US lol. I'm excited!

Friday was spent making potential travel plans while in Europe... then caught public transit out to Marcus'. Clay and Sara were there, we watched the tail end of the nucks 2nd game (which they won). We had a few strong drinks, a couple shots, and then got a ride to Woody's. It was my first time at Woody's, but it was pretty good. All I can say about Friday night, other than the incredibly fun time it was, and how awesome it was to see SCOTLAND... is that men are so predictable. Although I did meet a very unselfish caring guy who had to drive me all over the place, long story. Haha. Marcus and I ended up at the casino, left at 5 am and called it a night.

Saturday: Food, sleep... watch hockey, food...sleep. Skip party where I was supposed to see all of my friends. That's about the extent of it. Although I will say that I'm glad I skipped out on Saturday, only because the swelling in my neck that I've had for over a month has FINALLY DISAPPEARED. It was a wonderful day Sunday finally feeling human again. These sicknesses have had a hold on me since January... 4 months is way too long to be sick!

Sunday I went to Nanaimo, Oulton picked me up. We watched the hockey game together and then I drove home. I saw the little bunnies tonight, they are just little bundles of love :) This week involves sorting through years of junk, getting back to my workout routine... Then going back to Victoria for 4 days of a hockey tournament! Yayyyyy! It will be my last time on skates for 5 months. That makes me sad but I still can't wait!

I hope everyone is having a good April, I'll be back in less than 20 days this time ;)

Victoria

My most recent location for randomness!

After arriving home from my last hockey tournament/fun in Vancouver, I spent a few days getting my taxes prepared. I had to gather all the paperwork from the last year, so it took me a while. I'm not impressed with how much I have to pay in taxes, lol. But at least it is done.

Once all that was done, I didn't feel like going out of town as originally planned... then Saturday afternoon, my mom said "I need to know if you are going south or not because your brother needs a ride to the ferry". I rushed home, packed, showered, and was out the door around 3 pm.

After dropping Mike off, I dropped by Starbucks then went to Kims. We threw the dogs in the truck (2 golden retrievers and a small border collie) and took them up to Dumont. It had cleared up and we had a nice walk, its very rural up there. We chatted and put our make up on together once we got back, she made me tea, then I took off for Victoria.

I hadn't made full plans because I hadn't expected to be going... so on my way down I called my cousin Kevin. His really kewl wife Jenn answered, so I told her my random plans and asked if I could crash there. They said yes and gave me directions.. thanks guys! :)

My friend Ron from vic let me know he was at Swans, so I dropped by for a drink. He was with 3 other people. After some colourful conversation (leave it to me...) I find out that John, who was at the table next to Ron, is a CATHOLIC PRIEST! I'm not quite sure how the others found it acceptable to not let me know that information when I sat down with them! Anyways lol, it was interesting. At that bar I also ran into a relative named Brad, so we exchanged numbers and made tentative plans to meet up for a bite to eat while I was in Vic.

The whole night was pretty interesting as it carried on - it was a late one but I got some dancing done and had a blast! I danced with a transvestite who figured, after a while of me dancing with him, that I must not have known he was a tranny... so he started talking to me, that way I could hear his voice.. but I just carried on as usual. lol.

Sunday was fun, met Leah at Thetis lake with Isaac (her son) and his friend Finn. It was such a beautiful day, we hiked around the top trail. After that I went home and had a good nap!

The rest of the time was fun. I got to visit some friends I haven't seen for a while... I hungout a bit with my hosts Kevin and Jenn, that was good. Leah and I walked Dallas road, it took us almost 2 hours. We had good talks and enjoyed the city. JACK SMACK! haha. Tuesday I had a wicked workout at Commonwealth Place. It was cheap, clean, bright, great equipment. I went out with Brad that night for dinner and now its Wednesday and I'm home!

I cannot straighten my arms. I did a lot of pull ups yesterday and I can't believe how sore I am from them. I do like being a "good sore" though so I'll deal with the stiffness :)

Today I watched Slumdog Millionaire on bluray with my mom at my parents house. It really does make a difference, and it was such a good movie. I would suggest watching it if you haven't seen it yet!

Until the next adventures, which will be here soon no doubt... I know someone here is on spring break soon ;) Also, here comes Easter weekend. Next trip to vic will include a hike up Mount Finlayson, can't wait!

Now, I know that my girl is alone
And she's been blowing me up on my phone
But I can shower when I get back home
Cause tonight I'm dancing dirty, yeah!
